The author says that Xenon technology as a projector light source has been taken as far as it can go. More brightness is needed (especially with 3D movies), and he figures the next wave will probably be laser based. He also suspects that RED will announce a 4k laser based projector at NAB.
P.S. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to say laser out loud again without making the Austin Powers air quotes 🙂
