I’ve always liked Wooden Camera’s kit: well made and you can tell they sweat the details. They’re now part of the Vitec group, and this year they’ve collaborated with their sister company O’Connor to come up with the UFF-1. That stands for Universal Follow Focus and…well…one. Quite frankly it’s genius! Why hasn’t anybody come up with this before? The big problem with follow focuses (focai?) is that they come with lots of different fittings to accommodate the three different rod standards used throughout the film industry. Check the video to see how WC has solved it.
BTW, pretty reasonably priced, especially for the base unit.
BBTW: Ryan’s business cards are made of actual wood.
