Wow, it’s like switcher heaven on KOAT this week. Yesterday I featured the new Roland model, a couple days before that a Broadcast Pix update, and now Panasonic’s new offering.
Much like the Roland, they are more hardware focused, but they are coming around. They have opened up the switcher’s “operating system” to allow users to write control programs for it.
“….You can have a control application, or a colorimetry application, where you can modify the switcher. You could use a tablet to control the switcher from a distance, or have it integrated with pan and tilt zoom cameras. You can write apps right into the switcher that will then work with third party devices….”
