I was looking for something else last night, and discovered that Sony is now making a magnifying viewfinder to attach to the F3’s flip-out screen, much like on the FS100. It comes with a bracket that screws into mounting points on the camera for stability and strength. I guess the whole point of this is to allow you to shoulder mount the camera. Interesting if a bit bizarre.
God I wish manufacturers would just give us the whole kit in one kaboodle. What was ever wrong with the shoulder mounted “Betacam” design? Trying to get the centre of gravity for tripod mounting AND shoulder mounting in the same place on these smaller cameras has become the bane of my existence!!
