There were hints that Switronix were getting into the video transmitter game last month, and they finally announced today.
First take? They look very similar to IDX’s Camwave system, but about $2000 cheaper. The ability to accept HDMI will be a selling point I’m sure. A fellow who rents Boxx systems (so take this with a huge grain of salt) said he saw them at IBC. In his opinion, they are reasonable for monitoring an on-board recording, but they aren’t solid enough to take the signal to air in a live broadcast situation. That’s been my experience with the Camwave units as well.
